Imtex Membranes Corp. is pleased to announce that it has received a strategic investment from SABIC Ventures. SABIC is a global leader in diversified chemicals with in revenues and operations around the world.
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development of Canada, visited Imtex Membranes today to discuss the need of innovative clean-tech solutions that address the world’s environmental challenges while still creating jobs and economic growth for the country.
Imtex Membranes Corp., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 30th Ethylene Producers’ Conference that will be held April 22-26, 2018, at the Orlando Marriott World Center in Orlando, Florida. The conference will be held in conjunction with the 2018 American Institute of Chemical Engineers Spring Meeting and 14th Global Congress on Process Safety at the same location. The AIChE Spring Meeting is the year’s key technical conference for practicing chemical engineers. A wide range of subjects relevant to the current needs of industry is covered. Plus, the Global Congress on Process Safety covers the critical needs of process safety practitioners more broadly and deeply than any other conference.
We welcome you to visit the Imtex team throughout the conference at Exhibit Space #8 in the Sabal Room located on Level One of the Orlando Marriott World Center. Imtex business development personnel will be available to introduce you to Permylene™ membrane technology and discuss the benefits that Permylene could bring to your operations within the petrochemical industry. Permylene is a viable, highly modular and economically attractive alternative to traditional high cost, energy intensive processes for olefin/paraffin separation. Permylene is suitable for separating a wide range of C2, C3, and C4 olefin/paraffin mixed gases.

Several articles have been released over recent years highlighting the emergence of new technologies and the impact they will have on the global petrochemicals industry. This latest article ‘Seven chemical separations to change the world’ does well to summarize the significant opportunity and challenges faced by the development of membrane technologies. While the size of the opportunity is driving interest and development, there are naturally several commercialization challenges that lie ahead.
Imtex Membranes Corp. put the spotlight on innovation with their participation at the 29th Ethylene Producers Conference (EPC), held in conjunction with the annual American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Spring Meetings on March 26-30, in San Antonio, Texas.
The conference served as the epicentre for chemical engineer professionals to engage with a network of ethylene producers, suppliers and potential consumers in varying dialogues that featured white papers, keynote addresses, panel discussions and presentations on a wide range of topics from innovative manufacturing to emerging applications and technology.
As a sponsor at EPC, Imtex facilitated a discussion on innovative membrane technology and how it can be integrated to improve future business operations.
A highlight of the conference was a presentation in the AIChE technical session on Processes of Sustainability by Glenn Towe, the President and CEO of Imtex Membrane Corp, who provided insight into a more sustainable future for olefins production.
The presentation “Permylene™ Membrane Technology - The Cost Effective Alternative to Distillation for Olefin Purification and Extraction” addressed several key concerns to stakeholders and proposed solutions to lower energy consumption, reduce capital costs and mitigate environmental impacts.
Imtex Membranes Corp. is proud to announce its sponsorship and speaker presence at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Spring Meeting and 13th Global Congress on Process Safety to be held March 26-30, 2017, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Glenn Towe, Imtex's President and CEO, will be speaking on:
"Permylene™ Membrane Technology - The Cost Effective Alternative to Distillation for Olefin Purification and Extraction."
Tuesday, March 28, at 2:00 PM
Convention Center - Room 213A
We also welcome you to visit the Imtex team in the Hemisphere Ballroom/Prefunction Area, Exhibit Space # 13, in conjunction with the 29th Ethylene Producers Conference to engage in further discussion around Permylene and explore the benefits the technology could bring to your operations.
If you are attending this event and would like to arrange a one-on-one meeting with one of our executives to learn more about Permylene, its benefits and how it can be realized in your facilities, please complete the "Let's Connect" form.
Imtex Membranes Corp., originator of the Permylene Membrane System, the first commercially available facilitated transport membrane system that is a high performance, lower cost alternative to distillation for olefin extraction and purification in the petrochemical and refining industries, has published Imtex Permylene Membrane Systems – The Cost Effective Alternative to Distillation for Olefin Purification and Extraction. This paper describes how Permylene membrane separation technology works in extracting valuable olefins from olefin-containing mixed gas streams in a cost effective manner, and how Permylene can be integrated in a variety of olefin separation processes, including those that are commercially desirable but are considered impractical or uneconomical via conventional distillation or other separation technologies.
Imtex Membranes Corp., originator of the Permylene Membrane System, the first commercially available facilitated transport membrane process that is a high performance, lower cost alternative to traditional distillation techniques for olefin extraction and purification in the petrochemical and refining industries, has published “Permylene Integrated Solutions: 1-Butene Purification from C4 Raffinate”. This paper describes how Permylene membrane separation technology could replace and integrate with traditional C4 distillation, resulting in a more cost effective and operationally efficient system.
